From Los Angeles to Stockholm, how "Close to Home" is already connecting the Spotify community
Employees, we are excited to announce that the entire Spotify community is thrilled by the successful launch of our latest platform, “Close to Home!” We celebrated this launch with an event that represents this new community-building feature. Last week Spotify welcomed members of our own team, influencers, and valued artists from within our community to experience “Close to Home” and learn more about the features involved with the platform.
The celebration commenced with a performance by Los Angeles local, Steve Lacy. Attendees were welcomed with Lacy’s 2022 hit single, “Bad Habit,” starting the evening on the right note. To truly encapsulate the benefits of the Close to Home service, party goers were then able to watch a set from world renowned DJ Alesso, who traveled from Stockholm to perform. We are excited to give our own employees attending the opportunity to experience both local and international artists and give users a taste of the Close to Home experience.
In addition to stellar performances, we highlighted the service’s immediate success with a compilation of video submissions from our fans who have used Close to Home. We showcased user praise for the new service, who shared ways they’ve connected with new artists and unfamiliar genres of music through our new feature.
We ensured our community members who attended the event were able to experience the novelty of Close to Home in person, by giving them the opportunity to connect with the artists in attendance. By giving each attendee the chance to preview this feature, we helped artists gain familiarity with Spotify and everything it has to offer, along with an understanding of how this feature can benefit each and every person on the platform.
